The City of Toronto has a cool contest happening now! The 2014 Live Green Toronto Awards recognizes the citizens, groups and businesses that are helping to green Toronto. This is the 2nd time the Awards have taken place, and it’s a great idea!
To enter, you submit a video, up to 90 seconds long, and tell their green story in 500 words or less. Then, spread the word for everyone you know to view the videos and vote for their favourites online.
I’m honoured to announce that I’ll be one of the judges for the contest! The winners are based on both the public votes and our scores.
Winners will receive a Live Green Toronto Award, $2,500 and a chance to appear on CP24, the station of some great hosts (I appeared on there a few times. Very fun!)
There are a number of Award categories to enter:
• Youth: individuals and groups, 24-years-old and under
• Individual: 25-years-old and up
• Group: two or more people, community groups, non-profit organizations
• Small Business: up to 50 employees
• Corporation: more than 50 employees
Videos will be allowed until May 5 at 5 pm and voting goes until May 12 at 12:00 pm. We’ll be announcing the winners on May 30, and for all the details about how to enter and tips on how to create a video, visit http://awards.livegreentoronto.ca.
