Me, My Dad and Baseball

July 15, 2012 By callmehannah 22 Comments

Me and my dad are huge fans of baseball! My dad taught me everything about it like the bases, homeruns and more! In fact yesterday we went to a baseball game. The Blue   Jays won! We both buy the same food like hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy! My dad tries to get really good seats at the game and we usually do!  My mom doesn’t like a lot of sports so it’s a father and daughter thing to go to a sports game.

We both pay a lot of attention at games so we don’t miss anything important. When we’re there we try to buy a lot of merchandise like jerseys, hats , flags, fingers and much more! I still always ask question to my dad if everybody’s clapping and my dad tells me why. At some games kids get to run around the field and my dad and me makes sure I do that!

My dad tells me which team is better at playing at the game so then I can maybe have a prediction who can win! My dad allows me to get tattoos at some games on my face! It’s awesome!  Sometimes my dad challenges me to eat a really big pickle they have there and I’m always up for the challenge! Me and my dad always sing to the song “ take me out to the ball game” it’s a amazing song!

Yesterday I learned that the Toronto Blue Jays are environmental because their popcorn bags are biodegradable, that was really good to learn that the baseball people care about the environment.

I really do love baseball and I think the best part of it seeing it with my dad.

The blue jays website is www.torontobluejays.com. Check it out! Maybe you’ll have a chance to see the Jays (or your favourite team) play this summer.

Do you have a special thing that you do with your Dad? I’d love to hear about it and hope that you’ll leave a comment.

I love this post and it reminded about some of the special things I loved doing just with my dad when I was a girl. We often went to baseball games as well (Yankees), though always with my brother as well, so probably the most special thing I remember doing with my dad was going to the bakery every weekend morning to pick up rolls and “medicine” (that’s what he called the goodies!) for breakfast.

My dad is very funny and a very special guy. About a year and a half ago I set up a blog for him to tell his life story. You may still be too young to understand it all, but it is here and you will see a picture of me as a baby on my dad’s shoulders in the blog’s header. http://alexlevy.net/

Thank you Jennie! I can’t set up a blog for my dad because he already has one! I think I’m too young to understand it. Sorry.

I really like you’re story. You are a very good writer. My dad and I like to take our dog Ben for a walk at night. It’s a lot of fun because he likes to chas squirrels sometimes.

Thank you Sarah! Me and my dad take my dog Indigo out for a walk at night too! But she can’t chase squirrels because she’s too old.

My Dad used to take me to soccer games in England when I was little. I was the oldest of four girls and it was our thing.
I miss that. You are very lucky. I don’t really know about baseball, but I am trying to learn!

Hi Hannah-we didn’t realize that you were a baseball fan until we said goodbye at the Digital Family Summit. We could have talked baseball all weekend! Jacob and his dad are huge fans of the Mets and if you google Jacob Resnick, you will find out a special surprise about him.

Thank you Robin! I didn’t know either! I looked Jacob up, that is so cool that he just yelled out it! Your son is very amazing and confident for doing that. He has a lot of google alerts! Tell Jacob that I give a huge congratulations to him! Maybe one day he’ll be a real speaker and do that more often! Thanks for telling me about it Robin!

Just came across your blog and love it! Keep up the good work.

I haven’t been to a game in years, but I used to be a big baseball fan also. I used to go with my friends when I was younger. I was even at the games when the Blue Jays were in the World Series. I hope you are able to see them in the World Series one day too!

So happy to see another baseball fan 😉 We take the kids each year and they love it – their daddy is pretty proud at how excited they get at the game (although I think it’s excitement from spending time with him too!)
