Dog brings a new life to man with Alzheimer’s

April 30, 2014 By callmehannah 1 Comment

Last month I wrote a post about Seth Rogen’s speech at a Senate hearing on Alzheimer’s Research. He talked about how he and his family has been personally affected by Alzheimer’s disease and the need for more research and funding to work towards a cure. Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects your memory and thinking, and as it progresses people have a harder time even recoginzing their closest families. Both my parents have a grandparent who suffered from Alzheimer’s, and the disease mostly affects the elderly.

If you ever wanted to see the power of animals – especially dogs – watch the video below. A woman named Lisa filmed her dad who has lost most of his speech because of Alzheimer’s. But when Lisa’s dog comes into the room, her dad changes in a way that will really make you stop and think, and maybe cry a bit. I did.

This video is truly inspiring. It really show the power of animals and how amazing it is. It was so sweet when Lisa’s Dad was talking to the dog I really started to cry a lot! It reminds you just how important every moment is and to always enjoy life!
